I just moved here from South Texas, and I'm looking forward to enjoying the bay fishing in the Tampa area.

If anyone on the forum has fished South Texas (Port Mansfield, Arroyo city, or South Padre Island), should I expect to find the the fishing similar in the Tampa bay area?

I have a 2010 186 Dargel Skout with a 90 HP Honda. Those of you who are not familar with the Dargel's, they are a tunnel V that can draft in approximately 6" of water, and can get a hole shot out of approximately a 12' to 18" of water. I know some of you make a living as a guide, and don't like to give out your "hot spots". I'm not asking for GPS coordinates, just a few reference points, and of course areas to stay clear of.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Respectfully
Mike

Personally, I would use a guide. There are several good ones in the area and one that is very affordable, but I can't recall his name at the moment.
