Bo Patro chomping at the bits to get his Reel Lite in the waters.

He came up this idea that has a lot of merit........
Not only will it work for Reel lites also about every brand on the market........
Making your light very portable to all types of fishing from gigging, kayak, etc.
..............proud of bo Patro (Bart)

Here is Bo Parto Idea
---------------------------------------------------------------
When got my Reel lite I decided to modify it a little bit.

First I cut the battery clips off. Then I put a quick
connect on the clips and wrapped it in heat shrink.

Then I put a quick connect on the clips and wrapped
it in heat shrink. Then I got a 12v socket and put the
same quick connect on it as the clips and wrapped
in shrink wrap .After that I put the opposite end of
the quick connect plug on the cable off the light and
wrapped it all up in shrink wrap. In the pictures you
can see the two plugs I made then the quick
connects I used.

I got a battery pack at West Marine (since I work
there and it was easier than making my own) that
has a 12v socket built in.

The last two pictures show the light connected to
the 12v plug and plugged in.

If you want info on the battery pack it is a Caframo
12 volt battery pack 12 volt battery pack. It runs on 8
D cell batteries. And has a built in 12v socket. It also
includes a shoulder strap for easy carrying.

Note: The Caframo retails from $24.00 to $39.00
Do a goggle search.

I tested the battery pack today to see how long it would run the light. I took a multimeter and checked the volts coming out of the pack. It read 13 volts with brand new batteries. I plugged the light in and left for work. When I got home the light was still on and just as bright as when I had left. At this point it had been on for eight (8) hours! I then took my multimeter and checked the voltage again. Amazingly there was still 11 volts! That equates to 1 volt lost every 4 hours! That is truly impressive. I highly recommend the Caframo battery pack to use with your Reel-Lite. It will last a very long time!

I should also note that I was using the 612 light so if you have one of the smaller lights it will last even longer! Feel free to PM if you need any help or instructions on how to put this together for yourself!
