Will be in Destin from June 12 -19 Wife says I can go fishing while I am there. Missouri Boy here no fishing other than some pan fish and Rainbow Trout. Where do I need to look to get started? Do I need a Guide? Pay for a charter? Fish of a Pier? Any place to Fly Fish in a bay or anything? HELP ME PLEASE!!!

Guides can be helpful in Destin, especially if you're new to the area and have never done salt water fishing. If you want to try your luck, it doesn't hurt to get some big lures and try off the piers. At Okaloosa Island pier I had some luck.

TFF'r here. I'll be in Destin around the same time as bakdrft and had the same thoughts. My saltwater fishing experience >>> twice. Don't think i will book a guide/charter ($$$), but i'll be checking this thread for possible tips...
